Commissioned by: Chaconne Brass
Instrumentation: Brass Quintet: Flugel Horn, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba
Duration: 9:00
First Performance: Norfolk & Norwich Festival 1999
Second Performance: Turner Sims Concert Hall, Southampton 2002

Programme Notes:
The key word in this title is "Time". The piece, which falls into three sections, maintains the same speed (BPM) throughout, whilst exploring a myriad of internal changes of pace, constantly shifting the pulse any time things seem to be getting too regular or predictable. This makes for some virtuosic note reading and interpretation, as the music often produces effects which are not immediately apparent on the page.
