MICHAEL OMER

INTRODUCTION

Michael Omer's musical career as composer and musical director, encompasses television and film (Disney, Universal, BBC, Comcast), theatre and concert hall (London's South Bank), and includes scoring music for OSCAR nominated and EMMY award-winning drama.

His music for concert hall, includes works for orchestra, symphonic concert band, and chamber ensemble. Many of his works are inspired by space and the cosmos - notably 'To the Stars - in memory of the Space Shuttle Challenger' and 'Moving as the Restless Spheres'.

His great joy is improvisation, which he uses in his one-man jazz-piano cabaret shows, which have been seen at the former Pizza on the Park and The Pheasantry in London, as well as off-broadway in New York, and in jazz clubs in the Pacific North-West.
